Environment
Crystalite is committed to reducing our environmental impact wherever possible through a focussed approach on waste reduction, resource efficiency and emissions management. Supported by regular auditing and staff input to drive continual improvement, sustainability is embedded into the way we do business.
Waste Reduction
On-site processes are designed to minimise raw material and product waste. Through closed-loop recycling of packaging, including pallets, bags and other B2B materials, combined with the systematic reintegration of suitable testing samples into production when no longer required, we strive for zero-waste to landfill.
Packaging Circulairty
Where practical, our product packaging is also designed with circularity in mind. For example, our hot-applied thermoplastics are packaged in fully compatible, weatherproof bags that can be placed directly into the smelter, enabling easy application with zero packaging waste. Moreover, automated production systems and bulk handling is leveraged to further reduce packaging waste and energy use.
Resource Efficiency
Crystalite is committed to improving resource efficiency and reducing emissions through the responsible selection of materials, equipment and production processes. Wherever suitable, we prioritise locally sourced raw materials, recycled content (such as in glass) and lower-impact materials to help reduce transport emissions, support circularity and increase demand for more environmentally conscious materials.
Emissions Reduction
Equipment is selected with energy consumption, emissions and noise in mind, while regular maintenance and upgrades are undertaken to optimise performance and efficiency. Air quality and emissions are carefully managed, with dust and other by-products captured wherever possible and either reintegrated into production where suitable or responsibly disposed of. Internal procedures are also in place to help prevent and effectively manage spills.
