Crystalite is committed to reducing our environmental impact wherever possible. Recognising that resources are our business, we prioritise locally sourced, and materials with recycled content (such as in glass), as much as possible. Moreover, focusing on waste reduction and resource efficiency during production means sustainability is embedded in the way we do business.

Packaging & Waste

All on-site processes are designed to maximise materials used during production.

This means:

  • the systematic reintegration of suitable testing samples into production when no longer required,

  • recycling of on-site waste water, and

  • the capture of dust and other production by-products for reintegration, or if required, responsible disposal.

packaging circularity

All business-to-business (B2B) materials such as raw material packaging, pallets and bags, are managed through closed-loop recovery systems.

Recognising our responsibility doesn’t stop there, our product packaging is designed with circularity in mind to achieve recyclability, integration or reuse.

For example, products like our hot-applied thermoplastics are packaged in fully compatible, weatherproof bags designed for direct inclusion with the product into the smelter. This means even easier application and zero packaging waste.

accessible recovery

Recognising the complexity and challenges associated with large packaging items, Crystalite now offers a free return scheme for their bulk waterborne paint, cold applied plastic and glass bead containers.

This means customers can opt to have us collect, clean and reuse (or if damaged, repurpose) empty customer IBC containers. Reusing packaging like this is an important step in reducing environmental impact.
